The national chairman of the third phase presidential Amnesty programme, PAP, Gen. Godstime Ogidigba has appealed to delegates of the third phase to be patient as the ongoing leadership training is conducted in batches.

In a statement, Ogidigba explained that the training is being done in phases, and those not included in the first batch will be called in subsequent batches, emphasizing that the Amnesty Office cannot accommodate everyone at once.

Chief Dennis Otuaro, PAP Administrator, was commended for his understanding of the programme’s challenges and his capacity to deliver results, having been part of the struggle since phases 1, 2, and 3.

Ogidigba recalled that previous administrations had abandoned key aspects of the programme, including leadership training and overseas scholarships, and had planned to wind it down.

However, High Chief Dr Oweizide Ekpemupolo, Leader of the Ijaw Nation, strongly resisted the move, saving the programme from being scrapped.

Ogidigba urged Phase 3 leaders to remain calm and support Chief Otuaro’s vision for the programme, allowing him to implement the original master plan.
