By Stephen Asaba-ase
On Monday, July 22, 2024, Dr. Dennis Otuaro, Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), paid an official visit to the PAP’s Delta/Edo States Liaison office in Warri, Delta State. He was accompanied by top officials, including Mr. Daniel Edgar Biu, Technical Adviser, and Sir Godfrey Tare Pondi, General Manager of Operations, Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited.
Dr. Otuaro was warmly received by Captain Presley Prebor, Manager of the Delta/Edo Liaison Office, and Prince Seleakpo Botu, Assistant Manager. The Administrator emphasised the importance of information sharing and collaboration between the liaison office and the head office in Abuja. He cautioned staff against conducting personal business during work hours and urged them to report any issues or problems to the head office.
Dr. Otuaro directed the liaison office management to constantly report any office-related issues to the head office to ensure a productive working environment. He also emphasised the need for the liaison office to be accessible to address legitimate grievances from delegates and forward them to the head office for resolution.
The Administrator reminded staff that the PAP is a non-partisan agency and urged them to refrain from discussing politics or related matters during official duties. He emphasized that all activities in the liaison office should support the Head Office in maintaining and advancing peace in the Niger Delta region.
Dr. Otuaro urged staff to be courteous and patient when attending delegates, noting that the liaison office is the first point of contact for delegates who cannot travel to Abuja. He advised against using the office as a haven for issues and instead encouraged staff to provide solutions to problems presented by delegates.
Captain Presley Prebor, Manager of the Liaison Office, expressed gratitude to the Administrator for his visit, which he said would motivate staff to perform their duties better. He presented a list of needs, including additional office space, to improve working conditions for staff. Prince Seleakpo Botu, Assistant Manager, highlighted the issue of office space, noting that the current space was intended for eight employees but is now occupied by 22 employees.
