PAP Scam Alert: Attempt To Defraud Beneficiaries By One Aboyomi Fadipe Uncovered

Presidential Amnesty Programme beneficiaries including Mr Emury Bekenawei, Mr Igbala Godday and others have raised the alarm over an attempt to defraud them by one Aboyomi Fadipe, pretending to be a staff of PAP Lagos office.

This is according to a statement signed by the Comrade Emury Bekenawei on behalf of others during the weekend.

According to him, he got a call from a particular strange number on Wednesday 19th July, 2023 at about 12:15pm, adding: “The caller said his name is Aboyomi Fadipe and that he’s calling from the Presidential Amnesty office in Lagos, he went further to confirm from me my exact name and also asked me if I had undergone any form of training from the PAP office, Out of curiosity and for the fact that I was skeptical about who he really is and where he is calling from I tried to inquire from him a couple of things like what branch of the amnesty office in Lagos he’s calling from but he couldn’t give a reasonable answer, as a result of the fact he couldn’t answer the questions I asked he dropped the call.”

Bekenawei further narrated, “Immediately he dropped the call I went to confirm his real name on truecaller and it shows ‘Abayomi Fadipe’ which I also have with me the picture of the man in question. It was just after that day a woman raised an alarm on a WhatsApp group which am also a member, that she was also called by this same man trying to get her personal information from her, such as her Bvn and vital bank documents to defraud her from my findings. So far they’re actually a group of persons including ladies perpetuating this dubious activities. Some other persons also made such complaints.”

He admonished PAP Beneficiaries and members of the public to be wary of fraudsters in different guise, adding: “we should all stay on the alert and not to take unnecessary calls and don’t send any of your personal information to someone you don’t know.”

However, an inquiry made to the presidential amnesty programme Abuja office proved that there was no staff in the PAP Lagos office that bore Aboyomi Fadipe, adding that the fellow could be a fraudster.
