The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Burutu Local Government Area, held a compressive stakeholders meeting on Monday in Warri, Delta State.
The party stakeholders’ meeting was part of the party’s commitment and dedication to reposition the party in the LGA. The meeting was massively attended by key stakeholders across every ward in the LGA.
Expressing gratitude to ward leaders, unit executives, youth and women’s wings, and elders for their unwavering dedication, the Acting Chairman Comrade Jackson Agbor emphasised that their collective commitment has been essential to the party’s strength at the grassroots level. He acknowledged recent defections as distractions but hailed those who remained as true patriots committed to the PDP’s ideals.
“We are the future of this party,” he declared, reassuring loyal members that their sacrifices would be acknowledged in history. “Your loyalty over personal gain will not go unrewarded.” He urged members to continue working together to strengthen the party, stating, “With unity and love, our victory is certain.”
A key highlight of the meeting was the announcement of the party’s decision to prioritize self-funding. The Acting Chairman praised members for taking responsibility for promoting PDP activities without waiting for external assistance. “The strength and sustainability of our party lie within us,” he asserted, underscoring the significance of collective contributions in securing the party’s presence and loyalty.
In his remarks, he also called upon Ward Chairmen and Coordinators to compile and submit their full Ward Executive Committees (Excos) urgently. He emphasised the need for careful selection to avoid empowering opportunists or dissenters who may undermine the party’s unity. “Let loyalty, integrity, and commitment to the PDP be our guiding principles,” he urged.
The Acting Chairman urged all members to rise to the challenge of fortifying the PDP’s structure in Burutu, insisting that a united and self-reliant party would be able to withstand any opposition. “Together, we shall continue to strengthen the PDP from the grassroots up,” he concluded, inspiring hope for the party’s future.
