PDP Rejects APC Chairman’s Claim of Installing Plateau Governor in 2027

By Diafa Doubra,
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has strongly dismissed claims by the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, that his party will determine who becomes governor of Plateau State in 2027.
In a statement on Wednesday, the PDP described Ganduje’s remarks as “empty boasts” and insisted that only the people of Plateau have the constitutional right to decide their leaders through the ballot box.
The party accused the APC of plotting to undermine democracy by attempting to impose candidates, warning that such plans would be resisted.
PDP also pointed out that the ruling party at the federal level has lost relevance in Plateau due to alleged poor governance, insecurity, and economic hardship inflicted on Nigerians. It urged citizens of the state to remain vigilant and defend their democratic rights ahead of the next election.
