Police, DSS Arrest Suspected Vote Buyer With ₦25.9 Million in Kaduna

Security operatives in Kaduna State have arrested a man allegedly involved in vote buying during Saturday’s by-elections.

The suspect, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, was apprehended by a joint team of the Police and the Department of State Services (DSS). According to reports, he was found in possession of ₦25.9 million in cash, suspected to be set aside for influencing voters at the polls.

Authorities confirmed that the money was seized as part of ongoing efforts to clamp down on electoral malpractice and ensure credible elections across the state. The suspect is currently in custody and is expected to face further investigation to determine the extent of his involvement in the alleged vote buying scheme.

The development comes amid heightened scrutiny of the electoral process, with security agencies vowing to deal decisively with individuals or groups attempting to compromise the integrity of the polls.
