Police Extend Grace Period for Tinted Glass Permits

By Diafa Doubra,
The Inspector General of Police has announced an extension of the grace period for vehicle owners to obtain or renew their tinted glass permits, pushing the enforcement date to October. The decision follows public appeals and concerns about the short notice previously given for compliance. Authorities say the move is aimed at giving motorists ample time to regularize their documentation and avoid unnecessary penalties.
According to the police, the regulation is part of ongoing efforts to enhance security across the country by ensuring better visibility into vehicles, while still accommodating legitimate users of tinted glass. The force also reiterated that permits would only be issued for genuine reasons, such as medical needs or factory fitted designs, and warned against fraudulent applications.
