Police to Arrest, Prosecute Mirabel over Alleged False Rape Claim

The Ogun State Police Command has announced plans to arrest and prosecute a female TikTok user, Mirabel, for allegedly making a false rape claim.

Mirabel reportedly admitted to fabricating parts of her initial allegation during a phone conversation with social media personality VeryDarkMan (VDM), which has gone viral.

According to a police source, officers are monitoring the situation and Mirabel will be taken into custody after being discharged from the hospital where she is receiving treatment.

Mirabel had earlier claimed on TikTok that she was attacked and raped by a stranger who forced his way into her Ogijo, Ogun State apartment.

The allegation sparked widespread reactions online.

Police spokesperson Omolola Odutola confirmed the command is reviewing the matter and will issue an official update in due course.
