Police trail singer Seun Kuti, visit his home

By Sola Omoniyi, Lagos
Men of the Lagos state police command are currently on the trail of singer Seun Kuti. The Nigerian police officers from the command went to his Allen Avenue home on Sunday, 14 May, to arrest him following the misunderstanding that transpired between him and an officer, but they didn’t find him at home.
It was gathered that the officers were stationed at his Allen Avenue home but were later asked to leave the area.
Recall that the Inspector General of Police, Baba Alkali, ordered Seun’s arrest after a video of him assaulting a police officer surfaced online, which he described as self-defence.
The singer was seen pushing and also slapping a police officer on the Third Mainland Bridge. Seun shared a post on his IG page last night where he stated that the officer tried to kill him.
Meanwhile, the officer he assaulted had reported to the command headquarters and had given his statement of what transpired between him and the singer.
