Police sources revealed that the scheme was well-orchestrated, involving forged documents, impersonation, and elaborate deceit to win the confidence of wealthy targets.
Authorities confirmed that some victims had already lost millions of naira before the scam was uncovered. The police said they moved swiftly after receiving credible intelligence and are currently tracing accomplices believed to have played roles in the financial crime.
