The Take-It-Back (TIB) Movement in Jigawa State has announced plans to stage a peaceful protest in Dutse, the state capital, over worsening economic hardship, rising taxation, and growing insecurity affecting residents.

The protest, scheduled for Friday, aims to draw attention to what organizers describe as the government’s failure to address hunger, unemployment, and the daily struggles of ordinary Nigerians. The group said the planned demonstration is part of a nationwide call for accountability and people-oriented governance.

In a statement released by the movement’s coordinator, the TIB accused both federal and state authorities of imposing “anti-people policies” that have worsened the cost of living, while insecurity continues to claim lives and displace communities across the North.

The organizers, however, assured that the demonstration will be peaceful, urging security agencies not to intimidate or harass participants exercising their constitutional right to protest.

Analyst noted that the planned rally comes amid heightened tension in several northern states, where residents have increasingly voiced frustration over inflation, food scarcity, and unchecked banditry.
