PTI, OIDA Energy Partner to Boost Local Content in Oil, Gas Sector

By Diafa Doubra,
The Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) and OIDA Energy Limited have signed a partnership aimed at strengthening local capacity in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
The agreement, sealed on Monday in Warri, Delta State, is expected to promote technology transfer, enhance training for indigenous professionals, and reduce the country’s dependence on foreign expertise in critical areas of petroleum operations.
Speaking at the event, PTI Principal and Chief Executive, Dr. Henry Adimula, said the collaboration would equip Nigerian youths with modern technical skills to compete globally in the energy sector. He noted that the institute’s long-standing commitment to research and innovation aligns with OIDA’s drive to invest in human capital development.
On his part, OIDA Energy’s representative stressed that the company is determined to support Nigeria’s quest for energy self-sufficiency by investing in local talent and creating more job opportunities.
Industry experts say the pact could play a vital role in bridging the country’s skill gap, particularly at a time when global oil and gas dynamics are rapidly evolving.
