Residents Lament Over Incompletion of Ikorodu -Shagamu Road

By Sola Omoniyi, Lagos
Ikorodu indigenes have again expressed disappointment over the failure of the government to complete the ongoing rehabilitation of the Ikorodu – Shagamu road after the expiration of the promised date.
Mr Seun Elesho, the president of Ikorodu Heros lamented the failure of the federal government to complete the inter-state project linking Ikorodu, Lagos and Shagamu, Ogun state.
In what is crystal clear that another government would come to power on May 29, Mr Elesho asserted that it is so disappointing to know that another government would inherit the uncompleted project.
In a Facebook post, Elesho tagged the Honourable Minister of Work and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola and the Senator representing the Lagos East Senatorial District, Tokunbo Abiru, including the representative of the Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Rep. Babajimi Benson, on how 36 months turned into 86 months without completing the interstate road.
It is no doubt, the incoming government would inherit this construction as an uncompleted work, though it’s not abandoned, 36 months only turned to 86 months, Elesho lamented.
“Before the concluded general election in February, the roundabout part of the Ikorodu end of the Ikorodu – Shagamu road construction was laid with coloured sand, and it has remained like that for over 10 weeks.
“Unfortunately, we shall continue to talk about this road construction year after the due date of construction was not met,” Elesho expressed disappointment.
