Reverse Aso Villa Ban on Media Outfits – SERAP Urges Tinubu

Following the withdrawal of 25 journalists from covering the activities of the president, The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, SERAP has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to overturn the ban on 25 media outfits from Aso Villa.

This is according to a statement by Kolawole Oluwadare, SERAP Deputy Director.

Recall that 25 journalists were withdrawn from covering the activities of the president

SERAP stated that the ban includes journalists from Vanguard, Galaxy TV, Ben TV, ITV Abuja, ONTv, Liberty, PromptNews, and others.

The group urged the number one citizen, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to publicly command presidential officials to reverse the ban.

It was maintained that media freedom is the cornerstone of Nigeria’s democracy.

However, SERAP stated that the ban on the media must be lifted to ensure accountability.
