A foremost Niger rights activist Comrade Daniel Ezekiel has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to urgently release the detained executive director of operations in Port Harcourt, Capt Enisuoh Waredi unconditionally.

This was made known to the Congress correspondent in a statement by himself on Monday.

The activist Daniel said there was no way someone would be arrested two times for the same offence, adding that EFCC failed to challenge the appeal victory by Waredi to unfreeze his bank accounts over 5 years ago.

Daniel emphasized that EFCC is turning lawless and a threat to the rule of law, adding that it should be called to order to avoid causing tension in the country.

Again, he narrated that it was wrong for EFCC to compel the Tantita Security Company to reveal sources of information to them, stating that EFCC lacked such powers and that the commission has been hijacked by oil thieves’ cabals.

“For EFCC to wake up from slumber for an issue that was settled by the court over 5 years ago means EFCC is out for another dangerous mission, he noted.

“If I may ask what stopped EFCC not to challenge the appeal victory which unfroze Capt Enisuoh Waredi’s accounts over 5 years ago?

“They were represented in the suit and can’t claim to be aware of the appeal judgment unfreezing Enisuoh Waredi’s bank accounts.”

The activist cum government official demands the immediate release of Captain Enisuoh Waredi to avoid causing unnecessary tension in the Niger Delta region.
