A rights activist, Senior Comrade Ozobo Austin has demanded the arrest of Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, a prominent Islamic cleric, over allegations of supporting terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, and killing of Christians in Nigeria.

The Rights Advocate has called for Gumi’s arrest and prosecution, citing his perceived sympathy for terrorists and open support for banditry and killing of Christians in the country.

Ozobo stressed that Gumi’s inciting comments could ignite a religious crisis in the country and undermine national security. He further condemned Gumi’s advocacy for dialogue with terrorists and bandits, arguing that it amounts to promoting terrorism in the country.

He quarried that if Nigeria had not turned a banana Republic people like Gumi should have been rotting in jail for his open support for terrorists and killing of Christians.

The rights activist urged president Bola Tinubu and the Inspector general of police to immediately arrest and jail Gumi to pay for the innocent civilians and Christians that had been killed by Islamic militias through the support of Gumi and others.
