By Osaro Michael, Benin
The Founder and General Overseer of Goshen Freedom Tabernacle, GFT, Effurun in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State,Prophet Austin Ariole JP said with all the political crisis in Rivers State between the FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and the governor of the state Siminalayi Fubara, the Ijaws didn’t betray themselves and High Chief Government Ekpemupolo alias Tompolo.
This was contained in a statement by the cleric which a copy was sent to journalists in Warri, Delta State.
It was learnt that, the former governor, Barr. Wike made statements that attempted to challenge the Ijaws which caused so much provocation.
According to him, “Wike’s statement could have led to another economic hardship in the Country, but a voice from their leadership saved the day.”
Prophet Ariole despite political crisis and the recent declaration of a”State of Emergency” by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Ijaws of the Niger Delta region of Nigeria didn’t betray themselves and High Chief(Dr.) Oweizide Government Ekpemupolo Alias Tompolo.
“There was so much agitation for attacks on oil facilities over the political situation but the Field Marshal Chief Government Epemupolo a.k.a Tompolo gave a statement through TANTITA concerning the pipeline attack and you see the results. No betrayal, everyone complied.
“So, I appreciate him, Kestin Pondi and all who made this possible. This is lacking in the body of Christ. Everywhere is banta, accusations and arrest.
“We ought to have true fathers that should teach the younger generations the truth. Love, peace and humility, which is lacking in the body of Christ today.”
Prophet Ariole who spoke on the topic, understanding the cost of sacrifice said,”Jesus Christ died and redeemed man from the sin of betrayal.
He noted that,”Today the church seems to be looking elsewhere. They are interested in aspiring to be like the once now called fathers of faith.
“So much betrayal in the body of Christ and it is now dangerous to criticize the leaders of the church. If you do, they will come after you and arrest you.
“You can see what happened to the pastor who recently criticized another preacher, he was arrested and made to publicly apologize. The teachings of Christ is no longer applicable to the Nigerian pastors. We are now like Politicians. Betrayals and show of power and wealth. We are living a society of mixed religion and we ought to be the light” he said.
