Rivers Police Arrest Pastor Over Alleged Dehumanization of Minors, Rescue Victims

The Rivers State Police Command has arrested a pastor and rescued several minors following a disturbing video that surfaced on social media showing children being dehumanized inside a church. The incident, which has sparked outrage online, involved 41-year-old Pastor Ifediorah Onyeibor Joseph, who allegedly organized a three day “spiritual cleansing” program for children, claiming divine inspiration for the act.

Police operatives acted swiftly after receiving intelligence on the incident, storming the church and apprehending the pastor alongside some members of the congregation. The Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga A. Adepoju, assured the public that a thorough investigation is underway and urged residents to remain calm while reporting any suspicious activities to security agencies. He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to protecting vulnerable groups, especially minors.
