The Rivers State political atmosphere is very tense now with a fresh protest and explosion hit some local government areas of the state.

Meanwhile, the update is connected to the order by the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun on Monday, for the 23 LGs secretarial to be unsealed and the quick withdrawal of policemen who had occupied the council since July.

Currently the Eleme LGA secretarial is on fire, as buildings and vehicles were set ablaze following an explosion from a device suspected to be dynamite.

Also In Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni LGA, protesters raided the Council headquarters in Omoku, not allowing the newly sworn-in chairman to resume office.
