Shettima Double Nomination: Court Postpones Judgement Day

While some group will be in jubilation, another group will be consoling themselves as the Supreme Court fixed May 26 for the judgement on the alleged double nomination of Vice president-elect, Kashim Shettima filed by the opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The supreme court judgement will determined if Mr Shettima would be sworn- in as the vice president or his candidacy would be terminated as the final judgement is slated three days before the presidential inauguration.

However, it was alleged that if the vice president -elect Kashim Shettima disqualified, it could affect the president- elect, Bola Tinubu as both runs a joint ticket.

Joe Agim, a senior advocate told the Court of law that the ruling party, All Progressives Congress had earlier agreed Mr Shettima’s double nomination at the appeal court.

The present situation shows that the All Progressives Congress, APC denied the allegation to the earlier admitted statement.

Agim asserted that there is a Punishment for double nomination.
