A Nigerian Army soldier stationed at Ikoyi Barracks in Lagos has been declared missing after vanishing under strange circumstances following his morning routine.
According to reports, the soldier was last seen early Monday morning as he prepared for his daily duties. Family members revealed that he left his personal belongings including his toothbrush, phone, and uniform inside his room, sparking fears that he may have been abducted or harmed.
Relatives told reporters that they had been unable to reach him or get any concrete information from military authorities about his whereabouts. “We’re deeply worried because this is not like him,” one family member said. “He didn’t take anything with him. We just want to know if he’s safe.”
As the search intensifies, the Army has yet to issue an official statement, but sources within the barracks confirmed that internal investigations are underway. The soldier’s disappearance has raised questions about safety and surveillance within military facilities, especially in a period marked by rising insecurity across the country.
