Soldiers storm notorious sect leader’s hideouts, free kidnap victims

The military task force under the Joint Task Force, Northwest Operation Hadarin Daji has invaded the strongholds of a dreaded bandits’ leader, Bello Turji, rescued several abducted persons and recovered ammunition.
The military in clearance operations carried out on Saturday from Magarya to Dutsi general area of Zurmi Local Government Area in Zamfara State, discovered and destroyed several bandits’ hideouts located in Keta, Gidan Galadima, Modawa, Mazuma and Dutsi villages.
A close military source who pleaded anonymity hinted to Channels Television on Sunday, adding that during the operations, troops had encountered the deadly terrorist group at Keta and Dutsi camps belonging to Turji
“The troops overpowered the terrorists who fled further into the bush and abandoned 10 kidnapped victims who were rescued by the troops,” the source added.
It was gathered that the troops also recovered one rocket propel gun bomb, military radios and several pieces of ammunition.
It would be recalled that the dreaded bandit’s leader Bello Turji is based in the Fakai forest of the Shinkafi local government area of Zamfara State, his bandits’ group have been terrorizing the people of Zamfara, Sokoto and Katsina States for years and he has been declared wanted by the military authorities in the country.
