The Society For the Welfare of Unemployed Youths of Nigeria has launched its official website on Saturday 8th March, 2025.

The during the official website launch, the president of the group Comrade Preye Tambou while delivering his keynote address advocate for unlocking potentials among unemployed youths through technology drive.

The group said youths were the backbone of every responsible society, adding that it was a collective responsibility of leaders to empower them with the skills, knowledge, and resources needed for their success.

According to Tambou, youths were the future of every nation, adding that they were not only leaders but innovators and change-makers who will shape the course of every country’s history.

The group emphasised that many youths in Nigeria faced numerous challenges that hinder their ability to reach their full potential, according to the group, poverty, unemployment, lack of access to education and healthcare, and limited opportunities for personal and professional development were among other major challenges faced by Nigerian Youths.

The keynote address reads, “I am honoured to be speaking with you today at the launch of the SWUYN website and fundraising event for National Empowerment Initiatives and Projects.

“As we gather here today, I want to emphasize the importance of youth empowerment and the critical role that technology plays in achieving this goal, and also the critical role that youths play in shaping the future of our great nation, Nigeria. Youths are the backbone of our society, and it is our collective responsibility to empower them with the skills, knowledge, and resources needed to succeed.

“The theme of today’s event, “Unlocking the Potential of Youths through Technology,” reflects the urgent need to invest in our youths and unlock their full potential. We must recognize that the future of Nigeria belongs to our youths, and it is our duty to provide them with the support and opportunities they need to thrive.

“As we all know, youths are the future of our nation. They are the leaders, innovators, and change-makers who will shape the course of our country’s history. However, many youths in Nigeria face numerous challenges that hinder their ability to reach their full potential. These challenges include poverty, unemployment, lack of access to education and healthcare, and limited opportunities for personal and professional development.

“This is where technology comes in. Technology has the power to bridge the gap between youths and opportunities. It can provide access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities that were previously out of reach. It can also provide a platform for youths to express themselves, share their ideas, and connect with others.

“In Nigeria, we have seen the impact that technology can have on youth empowerment. For example, many Nigerian youths have used social media to mobilize and advocate for social change. They have also used online platforms to access education and training, and to connect with mentors and role models. There are many Nigerian content/skits creators and skit makers making a lot of money online.

“However, despite these successes, there is still much work to be done. Many Nigerian youths still lack access to technology, and those who do have access often lack the skills and knowledge needed to use technology effectively.

“This is why initiatives like the SWUYN website are so important. By providing a platform for youths to access information, resources, and opportunities, SWUYN is helping to bridge the gap between youths and technology. The SWUYN website will serve as a platform for youths to access information, resources, and opportunities that can help them achieve their goals. It will also provide a space for youths to connect with each other, share their experiences, and learn from each other.

“However, the launch of this website is just the beginning. We need your support to take this initiative to the next level. We need your donations, your expertise, and your time to help us empower more youths and transform Nigeria.

“So, I urge you all to join us on this journey. Let us work together to empower our youths and build a brighter future for Nigeria.

“In conclusion, I want to emphasize the critical role that technology plays in youth empowerment. Technology has the power to unlock the potential of youths and provide them with the opportunities they need to succeed. However, we must also recognize the challenges that many youths face in accessing and using technology effectively.

“I urge you all to join me in supporting initiatives like SWUYN that are working to empower youths through technology. Together, we can unlock the potential of Nigerian youths and build a brighter future for our nation”, he added.
