Tension as gunmen rampage in Warri, Ughelli, Agbarho, others

•As residents advised to avoid night movements
Following the prevailing insecurity challenges in Warri, Ughelli, Agbarho and other adjoining communities, residents of the above areas have been advised to avoid night movements.
It was gathered that robbery, kidnapping and cult-related cases have taken a different twist in the oil city and adjoining communities in the state.
Congress learnt that a police officer was kidnapped and killed in Ughelli by rampaging gunmen, an incident that had worsened the security situation in Ughelli.
While in Warri several cases of attacks, kidnapping and robbery had been recorded in recent times.
This was followed by the abduction of two catholic priests along Ughelli Road during the weekend in the state.
Also, an APC stalwart was killed in Agbarho in late April by unknown gunmen. A policeman was disarmed and his rifle was stolen. A naira bet chop owner and others were kidnapped within the DSC expressway and were taken to Orerokpe where their accounts were emptied before being rescued by the police.
Many who lost valuable items to the rampaging gunmen recount their ordeals, appealing to security operatives to step up security in Warri and its environs.
However, a security operative pointed to Agbarho, DSC expressway, Abraka road, Orerokpe road, EKU/Abraka road, Ughelli expressway, Ughelli and others as flashpoints of the rampaging gunmen.
