Tension as Tinubu allegedly directs military to prepare for war with US Army
By Monday Peters, Abuja
Nigeria’s President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has allegedly directed the military to be on high alert amid rising tensions with the United States, warning that Nigeria will not be swayed by foreign pressure.
Tinubu emphasized the nation’s sovereignty, stating, “If they strike us once, we will strike them five times.” He urged Nigerians to stand united against foreign interference, asserting that Nigeria’s destiny will not be dictated by any external power.
The tension between the two countries stems from the US designating Nigeria a “Country of Particular Concern” over alleged religious freedom issues, which Nigeria’s government denies.
Despite, the denial of the Nigerian government, it was clear that Nigeria was seriously occupied by Islamic terrorists and bandits over 16years.
However, instead of labels, Nigeria seeks tangible military support to combat extremism. The situation demands careful monitoring for potential escalations in military readiness or diplomatic actions.
