By Sola Omoniyi, Lagos
Deji Adeyanju, a socio-political commentator, has stated that the next Minister of Youth should be less than 35 years old.
Deji Adeyanju, a socio-political commentator reacted to President Bola Tinubu’s decision to reshuffle his cabinet days after assigning them portfolios.
He commended Tinubu for the redeployment of some ministers.
According to him, the next Minister of Youth should be less than 35 years old.
Recall, Tinubu had earlier appointed Abubakar Momoh as the Minister of Youths but he has been redeployed to the Ministry of Niger Delta Development.
Momoh was redeployed following an outcry by Nigerians who pointed out that he was not a youth.
Tweeting, Adeyanju wrote: “I commend President Bola Tinubu for removing the 64-year-old Minister of Youth & redeploying him elsewhere.
“It shows he is not tone-deaf to criticism like Buhari. The President should now appoint a YOUNG person as the minister of youth.
“The minister of youth should be someone less than 35, not any old man or woman.
“It is extremely annoying to see old men like me as ministers for youth. Nobody even in my age bracket should be called a youth.”
