Theatre commandant OPFY General Idris embarked on maiden operational and familiarization visit

The Theatre Commander Joint Task Force North West Operation Fansan Yamma (JTF NW OPFY), Major General Warrah Bello Idris, embarked on his maiden operational and familiarization visit to Headquarters Sector 1 JTF NW OPFY, Headquarters 1 Division Nigerian Army, Kaduna, where he was received by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division/Commander Sector 1 OPFY, Major General Abubakar Sadiq Mohammed Wase.

The Commander Sector 1 OPFY, Major General Wase, presented a comprehensive briefing highlighting the operational successes achieved, challenges encountered, and ongoing measures aimed at sustaining pressure on terrorists, bandits, and other criminal elements within the Sector.
In his remarks, the Theatre Commander, Major General Idris, emphasized the need for a renewed operational drive towards the total eradication of banditry and terrorism across the North West and Nigeria at large.
The Theatre Commander further commended the professionalism, dedication, and resilience of Sector 1 troops. He lauded the noticeable decline in banditry and terrorist activities, attributing it to the effective combination of kinetic measures and strong interagency collaboration employed by the Sector.

Major General Idris reiterated that the ultimate goal of Operation FANSAN YAMMA is not just to suppress, but to completely wipe out banditry and terrorism from the region.
He therefore urged troops to remain focused, disciplined, and committed to the mission while maintaining close collaboration with other security agencies to achieve lasting peace and stability.
