Three Major Bandit Camps Neutralized In Kogi State

A joint special operation comprising personnel from the Office of the National Security Adviser, Troops of 12 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, Nigerian Air Force, Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services as well as local vigilantes and hunters, has successfully neutralized three major bandit camps in the State.

A press statement by the State Security Adviser, Commander Jerry Omodara Sunday (Rtd) says, the camps operated by a notorious bandit leader Kachalla Babangida, were bombarded with superior firepower, leading to the neutralization of scores of bandits through coordinated air strikes and ground engagements.

According to the statement, the camps were destroyed while kidnap victims, were rescued.

The Security Adviser went further that the State Government has moved the rescued victims to medical facilities for treatment and will subsequently be transferred to IDP camps before being reunited with their families.

He commends the gallantry of officers and assured them of the State Government’s continued support towards the total elimination of banditry and terrorism in Kogi State urging the people to continue to cooperate with security agencies so that the ongoing clearance operations can deliver a final blow on criminals in the state.
