President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Ghana following a tragic military helicopter crash that claimed the lives of several top officials. The incident occurred earlier this week near the Volta Region and has left both Ghana and its neighbors in deep mourning.

In a statement released by the Presidency, Tinubu described the accident as a painful loss not only to Ghana but to the entire West African region. He emphasized the close bond between Nigeria and Ghana, noting that the two countries share a history of solidarity, cooperation, and mutual respect.

The Nigerian leader also expressed sympathy to President John Mahama and the families of the deceased, praying for the quick recovery of survivors and the healing of the affected communities. At this moment of grief, Nigeria stands with Ghana as a brother, the statement read.

Regional leaders and ECOWAS officials have also weighed in with tributes, highlighting the fallen officials contributions to peace and security in the region. The Ghanaian government has launched a full investigation into the cause of the crash, which involved a routine military operation.

As flags fly at half mast in Accra and ceremonies are planned to honor the victims, Tinubu’s message reflects the shared sorrow of a tragedy that transcends national borders.
