Tinubu demands Senate to approve Irukera’s dismissal as FCCPC Chairman

The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) Chairman, Babatunde Irukera, has been fired, and President Bola Tinubu has urged the Senate to affirm this decision.
Godswill Akpabio, the Senate President, read a letter from Tinubu that included this request at Tuesday’s plenary session.
The request comes after Irukera was fired as the head of the FCCPC.
Additionally, Tinubu requested that Oluwole Andama be confirmed as the Executive Director of the Nigerian Midstream, Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority’s Midstream and Downstream Gas Infrastructure Fund (MDGIF).
- Nonetheless, the Senate President forwarded the President’s demands to the Senate Committee on Gas and Downstream as well as the Senate Committee of the Whole.
