President Bola Tinubu extended warm birthday greetings to Senator Abubakar Kyari, the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, on Thursday, marking the minister’s birthday on January 15.

In a statement, President Tinubu lauded Kyari as a “consummate statesman and distinguished public servant” whose career has been defined by dedication to service, leadership, and nation-building.

The president highlighted Kyari’s extensive political background, including his tenure as a former member of the House of Representatives, a two-time senator, and acting chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Reflecting on Kyari’s early service, Tinubu noted the minister’s role as a commissioner in Borno State, where he managed multiple ministries with “rare versatility, competence, and an unwavering commitment to the public good.”

As a key figure in the Renewed Hope administration, Kyari has been credited with injecting innovation and foresight into the agriculture sector.

“You have brought innovation and foresight to the sector, championing mechanisation as a pathway to productivity, food security, and economic resilience,” the president remarked.

Tinubu praised the minister’s reforms and policies for contributing to reduced food inflation, stabilized prices, strengthened agricultural value chains, and the repositioning of farming as a viable and profitable venture.

He also commended Kyari for institutionalizing programs that encourage youth involvement in agriculture, fostering a new generation that views farming as a sustainable livelihood.

The president concluded by offering prayers for Kyari’s continued good health, renewed strength, and courage to achieve his vision of food sufficiency for Nigeria.
