President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has charged Nigeria’s newly appointed service chiefs to deliver quick and decisive results in restoring peace and security across the country, declaring that the nation is “in a hurry to celebrate victory.”

Speaking during the official decoration ceremony at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, President Tinubu reminded the military leadership of the weight of expectations resting on their shoulders. He emphasized that Nigerians have endured years of insecurity and now expect visible progress under the new security command structure.

The president expressed confidence in their ability to turn the tide against terrorism, banditry, and other criminal threats, assuring them of his full support. “You have been chosen based on merit and trust. Now is the time to prove that choice right. The Nigerian people are tired of excuses — they want peace, and they want it now,” Tinubu said.

Among those decorated were the Chief of Defence Staff, Chief of Army Staff, Chief of Naval Staff, and Chief of Air Staff, all of whom pledged to intensify joint operations and intelligence coordination to achieve national security goals.

The ceremony also symbolized a renewed commitment by the Tinubu administration to revamp the nation’s security architecture and restore citizens’ confidence in the armed forces.
