Afenifere, the pan Yoruba socio-political organisation has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on changing Service Chiefs, saying his steps are in the right direction to reset the country.

This is according to a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Dare Ajayi.

He stated that the damage insecurity has caused over a decade presented Nigeria as a Nation at war.

Ajayi said that the war wasn’t physical, it is psychological and attitudinal, which resulted in millions of Nigerians living in a pitiable condition.

He maintained that insecurity has led to the untimely deaths of thousands, imperilled hundreds of thousands of lives and destroyed businesses running into billions if not trillions of naira in debt which has increased the poverty rate in the country.

Recall, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, had earlier stated that poverty and insecurity were his priority areas for his administration and would do all possible to address them.

Ajayi admitted that the change of personnel was not enough to see a dramatic turnaround in the country’s architecture.

However, he maintained that changing all Service Chiefs was a critical step to effect fundamental changes in what is presently operating.

He urged the new Service Chiefs to come up with fresh ideas and approach all obstacles to safety and security in Nigeria.
