Tributes Trail as David Pere Laid to Rest in Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom

Ogbe-Ijoh, Delta State, witnessed an outpouring of emotions as dignitaries, community leaders, and loved ones gathered to bid final farewell to the late High Chief David Nane Pere, former Transition Committee Chairman of Warri South-West Local Government Council.
The funeral rites were attending by government functionaries, traditional chiefs, community leader and professional bodies and other stakeholders across Niger Delta region.
Congress learnt that the funeral was like a carnival and feast as the community was overwhelmed with dignitaries from all sphere of life.
While reading his biography, Late David Pere was described by many to have played a key role in restoring lasting peace in Warri City in Delta state as poinner chairman of Warri South West Local Government Council area.
The speakers pointed out that he was fearless, bold, dedicated, hardworking and committed to the service of Ijaw nation and Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom.
Chief David Pere was an exemplary leader, a mentor, a touch bear and selfless who created opportunities for the current crops of leaders in the kingdom.
“Chief Pere was a selfless leader, a champion of development, and a true icon of the Ijaw nation,” said Hon. Francis Oyimi, Chairman of the Burial Planning Committee.
“His legacy of peace, integrity, and community service will forever be etched in our hearts,” added Chief (Amb.) Francis Bomiebi, Secretary of the Planning Committee.
The funeral rites, conducted by the Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel Ogboroke), featured soul-stirring performances, heartfelt tributes, and a solemn procession.
As the casket was lowered into the grave, tears flowed freely as mourners bid their final farewell to a leader who had touched countless lives.
