Troops Foil Fresh Attacks in Plateau, Recover Weapons and Motorcycle

By Diafa Doubra,
Troops of Operation Safe Haven have thwarted fresh attacks by suspected armed bandits in Plateau State, recovering weapons and a motorcycle during the operation.
The security forces, acting on credible intelligence, engaged the criminals in a fierce encounter in parts of Barkin Ladi and Riyom Local Government Areas, which have recently been flashpoints of violence. The troops overpowered the attackers, forcing them to flee, while items including rifles, live ammunition, and a motorcycle used for escape were seized.
Military authorities assured residents of their commitment to maintaining peace in the state, noting that intensified patrols and surveillance have been deployed to prevent further unrest.
Locals commended the swift response of the troops, urging both federal and state governments to sustain support for security agencies to end recurring violence in Plateau communities.
