Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have recorded major successes in ongoing operations within the Timbuktu Triangle, further weakening terrorist networks in the area.

In the latest offensive, troops cleared and secured key locations including Tergejeri, Chilaria, and the Ajigin/Abirma axis.

In a statement signed by the Media Information Officer Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba says Several terrorists were neutralised after troops engaged fleeing elements during the operations.

On January 20, 2026, advancing to about six kilometres north of Chilaria the troops intercepted two Vehicle laden with Improvised Explosive Devices. One was successfully neutralised, while the second breached the defensive position, damaging some logistics assets.

Troops also discovered mass graves containing about 20 terrorist’s bodies, indicating heavy losses suffered by the insurgents and countering their propaganda.
