Trump-Putin Summit Ends Without Ukraine Deal

By Diafa Doubra,
The highly anticipated meeting between former U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin has ended without a breakthrough on the war in Ukraine.
The summit, closely watched by global leaders, was expected to open a path toward negotiations, but both sides left without a concrete agreement. Putin reportedly demanded recognition of Russia’s hold on occupied Ukrainian territories an option rejected by Washington and Kyiv.
Trump described the talks as “constructive,” stressing that both leaders want peace but admitting the conflict is “very complicated.” Putin, meanwhile, said Russia’s security concerns must be respected, signaling no major concessions.
The outcome has drawn disappointment from Ukraine and concern from European allies, who fear the war will drag on with no clear end in sight. Analysts say the summit highlights just how far apart both sides remain despite growing international pressure for peace.
