Two friends identified as Junior Clifford and Mbika have been confirmed dead after the Toyota Camry they were travelling in veered off the road and plunged into a ditch near the Osisioma flyover in Aba, Abia State.

Reports indicate that the impact of the crash trapped the victims inside the waterlogged ditch, leading to their deaths before help could arrive.

The body of a third victim, said to be a female, had yet to be recovered at the time of filing this report.

Confirming the incident, the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Abia State, Ngozi Ezeoma, said the crash occurred around 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday, 28 October.

Ezeoma disclosed that FRSC officials retrieved the bodies of the two male victims who were trapped in the vehicle.

“Their bodies have been deposited in the mortuary. FRSC recovered the vehicle from the ditch with the aid of a crane. The vehicle is a Toyota Camry. Preliminary investigations revealed that excessive speed caused the driver to lose control,” she stated.
