Unease as Tanker explodes in Kaduna

A devastating tanker explosion shocked the Dan Magaji area of Zaria early this Monday morning. The collision between two fuel laden tankers and two Volkswagen Golf cars near Rochas Foundation School set off a series of five powerful explosions around 8:30 a.m., triggering a massive fire and black smoke that blanketed the highway.

An eyewitnesses say that all occupants in the passenger vehicles perished instantly only one driver survived, but with serious burn injuries Emergency responders, fire crews, and security personnel promptly cordoned off the scene. Motorists are being urged to use alternate routes as rescue and recovery efforts continue.

As of now, official casualty figures have not been released, and the number of victims remains unconfirmed.
