Unemployed youths celebrate meritorious service of rare icon, Dame Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, OON, mni

The Society of Welfare of Unemployed Youths of Nigeria (SWUYN) has felicitates an exceptional Leader, Dame Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, OON, mni for driving credible reforms, improving efficiency, promoting meritocracy, professionalism and accountability in the Nigeria civil service.

 

However, Dame Mrs Didi Esther Walson-Jack, OON, mni is current Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Nigeria. She has been adjudged by the unemployed youths to have performed excellently in serving the country.

 

The group in a statement by its national president Comrade Preye Tambou said her commitment to public service is inspiring, citing that her legacy extends beyond her professional accomplishments as it encompassed empowering future generations of public servants.

 

In the statement titled, “A Heartfelt Tribute to an Exceptional Leader: Dame Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, OON, mni” which was dated on 21st March, 2025, he said, “I am deeply honoured to have had the privilege of meeting with Dame Mrs. Barr. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, OON, mni, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Nigeria. As the National President of the Society for the Welfare of Unemployed Youths of Nigeria (SWUYN), I was eager to discuss strategic ways to advance the interests of unemployed youths in Nigeria with her.

 

“My relationship with Dame Walson-Jack dates back to 2013, and I have had the privilege of benefiting from her guidance and advice over the years. Her sponsorship of my organisation’s Edgewise Bayelsa Youth Conference 2014 was a significant milestone in my journey, and I am thankful for her continued support.

 

“As the National President of SWUYN, I am committed to championing the cause of unemployed youths in Nigeria. Our organisation aims to promote skill acquisition, employment generation, and entrepreneurial development across the country. With the guidance and support of leaders like Dame Walson-Jack, I am optimistic that we can make a meaningful impact in the lives of young Nigerians.

 

“Dame Walson-Jack’s remarkable career, spanning over three decades, is a shining example of dedication, excellence, and selfless service to the nation. Her impressive track record of leadership and administrative skills has earned her numerous accolades, including the Officer of the Order of the Niger and recognition as African Iconic Female Administrator of the Year (2024) and Public Administrator of the Year for Bayelsa State (2008).

 

“As the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Nigeria, Dame Walson-Jack has continued to drive reforms, improve efficiency, and promote meritocracy, professionalism, and accountability. Her commitment to public service is inspiring, and her legacy extends beyond her professional accomplishments, empowering future generations of public servants.
