By Monday Peters Abuja
A group, the Voice of the Creeks Initiative (VCI) has extended warm birthday felicitations to Comrade Austin Ozobo, President of the Ijaw Publishers’ Forum (IPF), describing him as a vibrant son of the Niger Delta, a fearless advocate for justice, and a dependable leader.
According to a statement issued by the Media & Publicity Affairs Unit of VCI, the organization congratulated Comrade Ozobo on the occasion of his birthday, noting that his leadership qualities, resilience, and unwavering commitment to the development of the Niger Delta region remain commendable.
VCI highlighted that Comrade Ozobo’s recent re-election for a second term as Chairman of IPF stands as a strong testament to the confidence and trust reposed in him by his colleagues and stakeholders. According to the statement, his leadership journey reflects dedication, consistency, integrity, and measurable impact, emphasizing that true leadership is earned through service and results.
The organization further acknowledged his continuous efforts in promoting peace and dialogue in the Niger Delta, particularly in a region that has experienced turbulence in the past. It noted that Comrade Ozobo has consistently utilized the media as a constructive instrument for development, unity, and progress rather than division. His commitment to fairness and impartiality was described as evidence of his statesmanlike disposition.
As the CEO/MD of Congress Newspaper/TV, Comrade Ozobo was commended for his uncommon generosity and professional excellence. VCI observed that through the provision of free publication opportunities to individuals with meaningful developmental ideas but limited financial capacity, he has empowered numerous voices and contributed significantly to the growth narrative of the Niger Delta. This selfless contribution, the statement added, is both rare and highly admirable.
Describing him as a workaholic news magnate per excellence, VCI noted that Comrade Ozobo is disciplined, visionary, innovative, and highly respected among colleagues, partners, and the wider community. His dedication to truth, responsible journalism, and community upliftment continues to inspire younger media practitioners and activists across the region.
On this special occasion, VCI prayed for Comrade Ozobo’s continued wisdom, strength, long life, good health, divine protection, and greater achievements in his leadership and professional endeavors. The organization expressed confidence that the new year will usher in expanded influence, peace, prosperity, and fulfillment in all his undertakings.
“Happy Birthday, Comrade Austin Ozobo.
The Niger Delta celebrates you. The creeks salute you”.
