Warri Agog As Delta Speaker, Guwor Holds Special Thanksgiving

Warri, the commercial city of Delta State agog as the Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Guwor Emomotimi Dennis held a Special Thanksgiving Service on Sunday which had in attendance, the governor of Delta State, His Excellency Sheriff Oborevwori, immediate past governor, His Excellency Ifeanyi Okowa, immediate past deputy governor, His Excellency Barr Kingsley Burutu Otuaro, Rt. Hon. Julius Pondi, member representing Burutu federal constituency, Rt. Hon. Solomon Funkekeme, Special Adviser to the governor of Delta State and other top government functionaries.



Others who were present at the event included, the First Lady, Tobore Sheriff Oborevwori, the wife of incumbent Deputy Governor Dame Katrina Onyeme, Speakers of Bauchi, Benue, Plateau, Taraba, Enugu, Edo, Anambra, Bayelsa, Oyo, Osun, and Cross River states, serving and former members of the National and State Assembly, the Chief Judge of the State, Justice Theresa Diai, traditional rulers, political appointees, (current and past), Party Chieftains, Community and Religious Leaders, media CEOs and activists across the state.


The Special Thanksgiving Service which was held in Redeemed Christian Church, Airport Road , Warri, Delta State on Sunday was followed by a mega and luxury reception for guests and dignitaries at the popular event centre, the KFT place, at Ekpan link road, Warri Delta State.
Speaking at the event, the governor of Delta State Oborevwori remarked that it was a thing of joy to join his former colleague in a mood of celebration, stating that he heartily congratulated him for being the speaker of the state.

The governor advised Guwor to have confidence, seek wisdom and strength from God to succeed as Speaker, while admonishing him to remain humble, transparent and accountable.
On his part, the speaker, Guwor appreciated the immediate past Deputy Governor of the state, Otuaro who he said was instrumental in his rising in politics.
However, Guwor welcomed personalities and dignitaries who attended the Special Thanksgiving Service, stating that he was overwhelmed and grateful to God Almighty who made it possible for his second-term election victory and subsequent victory in the state assembly which allowed him to service as the speaker of Delta State House of Assembly.
Guwor who promised to make Deltans proud, reiterated that the Delta State House of Assembly under his watch will make laws that would impact positively on the lives of every resident of State.
