Warri Delineation: Itsekiri youth attacks Ijaws in Warri, attempts to set fire, loot business environments at NPA -Ozobo

Prominent activist and National President of the Ijaw People’s Development Initiative, IPDI has alleged that some protesting Itsekiri youth invaded a residence and a business premises of the Ijaw people in NPA Warri and attempted to set fire on the buildings and loot goods and other valuables but was foiled and resisted by the Ijaw youths on Monday.
Ozobo in a statement said what the Itsekiri youths did at NPA quarters yesterday was an invasion of Ijaw Communities in NPA and not a protest.
He further added in his statement, “They went to a business premises, force the fence of King Couple’s waterside business premises and attacked people, destroyed vehicles and injured people.
The Itsekiris action is a call for war. But I have spoken with people who suffered unlawful attacks and invasions from the Itsekiris irate youths to remain calm and law-abiding.”
Ozobo called on the Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori and the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi to investigate yesterday 19th May, 2025 incident at NPA and bring to book the erring Itsekiri youths for the interest of peace.
He also urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu not to play politics with what is happening in Warri, Delta State.
He said,” the Itsekiris nation should be called to order to avoid unnecessary violence and destruction of lives and properties in Warri.”
Ozobo also warned that,”The Itsekiris should not take Ijaw resolves for peace for granted. When it comes to war, Ijaw is good at it.”
However, attempts to reach the president of the Iwere youth for comments was abortive.
