Warri group counters Aladja women over protest, allegations against military, Warri South West LGA chairman

The women leader of the Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom Interest and Defence Forum, OIDF, has carpeted the protesting Aladja women who alleged that the military was supporting the Ogbe-Ijoh community against the Aladja community.

The group’s women leader, Comrade Ebiakpo Warekuromo on Friday said the protester’s assertions were misleading and could incite unrest if not checked.

Warekuromo said no military personnel deployed in the area was siding the Ogbe-Ijoh community against the Aladja community, adding that the Aladja women were blackmailing the military to pave the way for their boys to continue unprovoked attacks against the Ogbe-Ijoh community.

The women leader also debunked claims that the Warri South West Local Government Area chairman, Hon. Taye Tuoyo was inciting uproar against the Aladja community, adding that the council chairman resorted to the use of the military to escort building materials and other goods due to the continued attacks, seizure and destruction of building materials and other goods conveyed to Ogbe-Ijoh community through the Aladja/Ogbe-Ijoh access road by Aladja youths.

The group added that the LGA chairman’s action was to maintain peace and security between the two communities and should be applauded.

She said Aladja women should have the courage to talk to their children to stop the unprovoked attacks against the Ogbe-Ijoh community.

Warekuromo posited that despite the peace accord, Aladja youths continue to lay siege to the only access road between the two communities, making the road unsafe to access by residents of the Ogbe-Ijoh community.

According to her, Aladja women should call for peace with genuine hearts, and not incite uproar in the name of calling for peace.

Group’s women leader urged the general public, military institutions and the governor of Delta State, His Excellency Sheriff Oborevwori to disregard the mischiefs peddled by the Aladja women and their children.
