Warri South Delineation: Meinbutus Reaffirms Ijaw Position in Press Briefing, Appreciates Gov Oborevwori

The president General of Meinbutus Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom, Mr Ekaye Amakiye reaffirmed the Ijaw position on the recent attacks by the itsekiri rampaging youths on the Olabrakopre community in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.

Speaking in a press briefing in Ogbokone Community town hall in Warri South, the Meinbutus president thanked God Almighty that nobody was injured during the unprovoked attack on their community.

Mr Amakiye re-emphasized that Meinbutus leadership had pleaded to angry members of Ijaws in Warri South not to retaliate for the unexpected attack by their Itsekiri neighbors.

He thanked the various communities in Warri and their royal fathers especially the king of Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom, HRM King Couple Oromoni, the Amakosu, Mobene lll for their support. He also thanked and celebrated what INEC did by giving them the 3 wards. He expressed disappointment that the Warri South local government chairman did not do anything regarding their brother Mr Ebiki Ebikefe who was apprehended and shot at Iyara while passing by, stating further that up till now they were the ones taking care of the bills of Mr Abiki who was shot by the Itsekiri rampaging youths.

He further pleaded that every aggrieved Ijaw youth in Warri South should be calmed, citing that Ijaws don’t want trouble or problems while they celebrate what God had done for them.

The Meinbutus added that they are still hoping and expecting the Security Agencies to intervene and brought to book the culprits of the dastardly act.

Amakiye, thanked Gov Sheriff Oborevwori for his developmental strides in Warri and Delta State, admonishing Ijaw, Itsekiri and Urhobo people to provide him the enabling environment to bring more people-oriented programs and projects to Warri and its environs.
