Warri youth o’clock movement lauds renewed global attention towards religious killings in Nigeria
By Joseph Bienbo, Warri
The Youth O’Clock 2027 Movement of Warri federal constituency under leadership of Comrade Ezekiel Daniel has acknowledged and welcomed the renewed global attention being drawn to the worsening insecurity and religious persecution confronting Nigerians, particularly Christians in the northern part of the country.
According to the opposition movement for about four years now when innocent Nigerians have been slaughtered, communities displaced, and faith targeted with little or no decisive response from those constitutionally entrusted with the protection of lives and property, adding that the growing international resolve—especially from influential voices within the United States—to confront the menace of Islamic extremist violence in Nigeria represents a long-overdue recognition of a tragic reality many Nigerians live with daily.
The statement was signed by Comrade Ezekiel Daniel who is vying to represent the good people of Warri federal constituency in the house of representatives come 2027.
The statement reads, “We commend President Donald Trump for his consistent hardline posture against global Islamic radicalism and for lending moral weight to the call for action against extremist violence wherever it thrives. To millions of Nigerian Christians who have endured unspeakable brutality, this renewed engagement is seen not merely as rhetoric, but as a sign that their cries are finally being heard.
“The Youth O’Clock 2027 Movement salutes Nigerian Christians for their resilience, courage, and unbroken faith in the face of coordinated persecution. Your steadfastness under fire is a testament to the enduring strength of belief and the human spirit.
We also recognize and deeply appreciate the tireless efforts of advocacy groups, faith-based organizations, and human-rights campaigners—both within and outside Nigeria—who have refused to let this crisis fade into silence. History will be kind to those who chose to speak when silence was convenient.
“In this regard, we particularly acknowledge the principled leadership of Senator Ted Cruz and Congressman Riley Moore, who have consistently stood at the forefront of international advocacy against extremist violence targeting Christians in Nigeria. Their courage to confront hard truths has helped keep global attention focused on this grave injustice.
“Let it be clearly stated: the Youth O’Clock 2027 Movement does not extend commendation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on this matter. Leadership demands action, not indifference. While Nigerians—especially Christians—were being killed, abducted, and displaced, the federal government appeared more invested in political consolidation, coercion, and partisan survival than in confronting the bloodshed consuming parts of the nation.
It is deeply troubling that meaningful acknowledgment of this crisis only gained traction following sustained international pressure. A government that must be pushed from outside before it protects its own citizens has failed a fundamental duty”.
“Youth O’Clock 2027 Movement remains unwavering in its commitment to justice, security, religious freedom, and accountable leadership. Nigeria deserves a government that defends all its people without bias, hesitation, or external prompting.
The era of silence is ending.
The era of accountability is coming”, the statement added.
