We don’t know why Nigerians want to protest -APC Govs

The Progressives Governors Forum, comprising APC governors, has expressed surprise over the planned nationwide protests scheduled for August 1, 2024, citing unawareness of the reasons behind the demonstrations. The governors advised against the protests, emphasizing the need for patience with the Tinubu administration as it works to address economic hardship.

Uzordinna, speaking on behalf of the governors, stated:

-“We don’t know what they are protesting for.

We will invite them to discuss and agree on issues and proffer solutions.

We are committed to unity, prosperity, and job creation for Nigerians.

“We think it’s unwise to demonstrate at this moment, considering challenges like insecurity, minimum wage, food security, and economic recession.

We advise young Nigerians not to be instigated into causing chaos.”

The governors emphasized patriotism and urged citizens to take ownership of the country, citing the need to address global economic recession, insecurity, and political tension.
