MS Joy Ozobo Ofashi, a mother of six who has been widowed twice, could not contain her excitement on Wednesday afternoon when the Stonix News team visited her stall at Ginuwa Junction along the Warri–Sapele Road in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.

Her face lit up with joy as she received N250,000 via electronic transfer, funds meant to cover her annual rent, her daughter’s school and examination fees, and to boost her petty trade. The amount represents half of the N500,000 target set for her support.

Earlier, on November 1, 2025, Stonix News had published a moving report titled “Twice Widowed: The Pathetic Story of Mama Chinedu in Need of Urgent Help”, detailing her plight after losing her second husband in late October. His death left her struggling to care for six children alone, with no external assistance.

In response to the publication, Stonix News appealed for public support through its WhatsApp community and that of its sister outlet, crimeschroniclers.com.

Between November 1 and November 12, generous Nigerians from various ethnic and religious backgrounds donated a total of N200,000. Stonix News then added N50,000 to make up the N250,000 presented to her.

Overwhelmed with gratitude upon receiving the funds, Ms Ofashi expressed her appreciation in Pidgin English, offering heartfelt prayers for all the donors and the Stonix News team.

“Those people wey God use bless me, I pray say God go bless them too. May God keep them and make them find every good thing wey dem desire for life.

“May God open doors of opportunity for them. Evil no go near them. E no easy to be widow. I no pray to be widowed twice at a young age.

“May God bless Stonix News and make their company continue to grow in leaps and bounds,” she prayed.

Appreciating the benevolent gesture of the donors, Publisher of Stonix News highlighted the spirit of generosity among Nigerians, regardless of religion, ethnicity, or political affiliation.

“To my spiritual fathers, my brothers, friends, and acquaintances who supported us to help Mama Chinedu, we say a big thank you.

“Thank you for believing in us and lending a helping hand to a widow despite the economic hardship in the country. We will not take your kindness for granted.

“This is one of the little things God has entrusted to us to do for humanity within our own media ecosystem. God bless you all,” he prayed.
