The Executive Governor of Oyo state, Engr. Seyi Makinde and the outgoing governor of River state, Nyesom Wike have urged Nigerians to support good governance irrespective of political differences, noting that the time for politics is over and now is time for governance.
During the courtesy visit to the president elect, Wike stated that he is confident, Bola Tinubu had what it takes to turn around Nigeria.
Governor Wike asked Nigerians to back the incoming government which is expected to start on 29th May, 2023.
“Elections have come and gone. The winner has emerged and therefore is it necessary for all Nigerians to give him the necessary support for the interest of Nigeria.
“I am confident that he has what it takes to turn Nigeria around,” governor Wike said
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State also re-echoed his Rivers counterpart’s comment.
“I came here to basically pay homage to the president-elect. Elections are over and it is time for governance.
“We will do our best to give him support for good governance to Nigerians,” Makinde said
It would be recalled that Wike and Makinde who are part of the G5 governors under the platform of PDP did not support their party’s candidate, Atiku Abubarkar.
