By Micheal Chukwuebuka
A tragic incident occurred in the city of Gombe after a woman identified as Fauziyya reportedly died from poisoning, allegedly carried out by her co-wife.
The incident occurred in the Riyal Anti Kalare area within the Gombe metropolis and has left residents of the community in shock and mourning.
According to a local source, Ismail Abubakar Maisalati, the incident was allegedly fueled by jealousy arising from rivalry between the co-wives over their husband. The suspect is said to have secretly mixed a poisonous substance, locally known as “Gidigam,” into Fauziyya’s food.
Unaware of the alleged plot, Fauziyya reportedly consumed the meal, after which she fell ill and later died.
Eyewitnesses and members of the community said tensions had reportedly been building between the two women for some time, as competition for their husband’s attention and affection intensified.
